Muslim World Leagu
The Muslim World League (Rabita al-Alam al-Islami) is one of the largest Islamic nongovernmental organizations. Muslim scholars from 22 states founded it in Makkah in 1962. It is represented in the UN and has affiliates in many countries including South Africa.

The League has 8 bodies:
Holy Quran Memorization International Organization
International Islamic Organization for Education
Makkah Al-Mukarramah Charity Foundation for Orphans
Al Haramain & Al-Aqsa Mosque Foundation
International Islamic Relief Organization: In 2003/2004 $36 million was spent on 2258 projects involving 4,586,085 recipients in 81 countries
Commission on Scientific Signs in the Quran and Sunnah
The World Supreme Council for Mosques
The Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) Council: rules on new issues facing Muslims
 
Some Functions
Advocating the application of Islamic rules
Coordinating efforts of Islamic preachers
Promoting the spread of Arabic
Extending urgent relief to Muslims affected by war and natural disasters
